Airport Exhibition
OC Fair exhibition at John Wayne Airport
Role: UX, Visual Design
Project
Develop an exhibition in celebration of the 125th Anniversary of the Fair.
Working on a team of two, I quickly realized that this was an unusual chance to engage a large diverse audience and to talk about the history and future of the fair.
But, what could I do to get 30 seconds of their attention? What could I do to entice someone sitting across the hall in the terminal to get up and walk over to the exhibit panels? What could I do with 31 cases the varied in depth 7-12 inches, were 6 feet high and 12 feet wide?
With these questions in mind I set to work culling through the Fair’s archive, talking to key staff members, and looking for external sources of information.
At the end of our research I came up with 23 themes shown below.

What I Learned:
With Bolton focusing on the copywriting, and myself on the visual design we made a good team focusing on our strengths and best use of time as this project was a priority with a tight time frame to meet the exhibition schedule for the John Wayne Airport.
